Notes from SmartSheffield #13: Something in the air
29/07/19
The SmartSheffield meetup returned for a new run of events on Monday 2 September and Pitch-In is pleased to be sponsoring this year’s activity alongside Ove Arup Group, Creative Space Management and Sheffield Digital. Notes and presentation videos from this event are now available online, the focus for this event was on air quality and the various initiatives that are currently in play to measure and address the problem in Sheffield.
SmartSheffield is a regular open meetup for people and organisations interested in the ‘smart city’ concept and related projects in Sheffield. The main aims of the group are to bring a community of people together who share a common interest, and to discover, discuss and get involved in local projects. Each meetup consists of ‘Open Space’ talks, break out discussions, networking and opportunities to get involved in new projects and funding calls.
SmartSheffield aim to run six events over the next twelve months with venues alternating between sponsors. Pitch-In will be hosting in the MindSphere Lounge in the University of Sheffield’s Diamond Building on the 6th January. Speakers will be announced on Twitter and in the Eventbrite listing as and when they confirm.
To get an idea of the kinds of topics covered by SmartSheffield, please read about the previous meetups on the SmartSheffield website, and check out the open Trello board where videos and slides are published.
The SmartSheffield meetup will alternate with the the Sheffield IoT meetup hosted by local start-up, Ioetec, and Pitch-In.
